Almost Everything I’ve Learned From 5 Years of Lean UX

Since the idea first percolated in 2010 through to its current state as a permanent hashtag on Twitter, Lean UX has created a new way of looking at how we design products and services. Equally as important, it has created a new way to look at working together with our colleagues in product management, software engineering, marketing and executive leadership.

Have the countless conferences, articles, blog posts, books and presentations made a difference? Has Lean UX made a difference? How have the ideas evolved since 2010?

In this talk, Jeff Gothelf, author of Lean UX, will recap his learnings from practitioner to author to teacher of Lean UX and the teams trying to adopt it. What’s worked? What hasn’t? Why? Where are things now and where are they headed? This tactical talk will cover all of that and more.

About Jeff Gothelf

Jeff is lean evangelist at Neo, spreading the gospel of great team collaboration, product innovation and evidence-based decision making. He is a speaker and thought leader on the future of user experience design, often teaching workshops or giving talks on building cultures that support teamwork and innovation. Jeff is passionate about advancing the principles that lie at the core of Neo, and often does so on a global scale.

Prior to joining Neo, Jeff led the UX design teams at TheLadders and Web Trends. Earlier he worked with and led small teams of software designers at AOL. He is the co-author (with Josh Seiden) of Lean UX: Applying Lean Principles to Improve User Experience and of the upcoming Sense and Respond (sensingbook.com).

Policies

All registration activities are handled by our volunteers. Please be advised that on the day of the event, we will do our best to manage transfers and late requests, but our primary focus will be on day-of-event logistics.

Regular registration closes at 10pm ET the day before the event -or- whenever seating capacity is reached, whichever occurs first.

Tickets are transferable up to 11AM the day of the event by sending a request to RSVP@nycuxpa.org. Transferees will please bring the transferer's registration confirmation in printed or digital form as backup. Transfer requests received after 11AM may not be received or processed.

If the event sells out early, a Wait List may be set up and managed by us on a discretionary basis. We will do our best to keep Wait-Listers informed about the status of available seating, but Wait Listers who haven't heard anything by noon the day of the event can assume there has been no change in status.

Attendees are asked to use our website to sign up for our events. NYC UXPA cannot register attendees in response to email requests.
